How shocking! I don't know whether to say "I'm sorry" or "congrats". Something better will come along - I mean, seriously, nothing can be worse than what you've had to deal with there. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way.

Um, yay? Boo? Change is always hard, but every time I was fired from a job (many, usually for my mouth) was a blessing. I just never knew it at the time. Fight for that damn patent. The money is yours. Then "re" invent it somewhere else just to screw them.

Oh Lordy, you got your colored folder. You were always too good for Edumart, those collective dumabasses. If it's any consolation, 6 months after I quit I got an employee referral check from them, so all hope is not lost. I'm glad you got your severence package and left the building before it implodes, a la Poltergeist.

It must be an epidemic. I got the same deal (RIFed) a month ago from my wonderful academic instituion - the 'you've got one month, give us our keys, and don't let the door hit you in the ass'. Frankly, other than the financial stress, it has been a great thing - I feel relief more than anything. Fight for the patent, make sure you get your vacation and file for unemployment, and enjoy sleeping in. Something better will DEFINITELY come along.

As one who has been RIF'd way too much in the last year or two...take those fuckers for every penny they owe you. Go out drinking a few times. Hang out with the pets and enjoy the time not in hell. Something better will come along.

Uh oh. Guess the writing really is on the wall. Who is left to do any work.
Just come back from big publishing group shindig in barcelona. Hilarous really.
As a ready of twobaddogs I have a sunny side to this. We are going to get a whole new load of characters. which is nice.
Hope you are fine now.
